Medical Assistant - Gastrointestinal Surgery
Responsibilities
- Aid in patient care under the supervision of physicians.
- Prepare patients for office visits and procedures.
- Perform various patient care activities including vaccine and medication administration, phlebotomy, and point of care testing.
- Provide indirect patient care through phone or Electronic Health Record (EHR) by addressing patient questions, processing medication refills, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
- Utilize electronic health record for efficient care.
Qualifications
- One year experience as a clinic back office medical assistant preferred.
- Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience.
- Completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
- Completion of Basic or Advanced Oregon Emergency Medical Technician program (Oregon only).
- Licensure: MA certification required within one year, from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
- May be met by current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license and national EMT registration (NREMT) (Oregon only).
- Oregon only: Washington State certification as a MA or Interim M A required for all who work or float in Washington.
- Current BLS for Providers from the American Heart Association.

Pay
Pay Range: USD $23.93 - USD $33.50 /Hr.
