Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology Specialty Care Clinic

Job Responsibilities

• Affords support to various disciplines within the Gastroenterology department for direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Proactively contributes to initiatives aimed at ensuring safe patient care and fostering a secure environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
• Performs assigned tasks under the guidance of licensed professionals such as physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, or physician assistants.

Requirements

• No minimum experience required.
• Prior experience in pediatrics, including obtaining vitals, assisting clinical staff with patient care, phlebotomy, and specimen collection procedures, is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited school or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.

Skills and Abilities

• Initial competencies as defined by the department must be completed within 3 months of employment.
• Able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment.
