Job Responsibilities
- Affords support to various disciplines within the Gastroenterology department for direct and indirect patient care activities.
- Proactively contributes to initiatives aimed at ensuring safe patient care and fostering a secure environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
- Performs assigned tasks under the guidance of licensed professionals such as physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, or physician assistants.
Requirements
- No minimum experience required.
- Prior experience in pediatrics, including obtaining vitals, assisting clinical staff with patient care, phlebotomy, and specimen collection procedures, is preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited school or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
Skills and Abilities
- Initial competencies as defined by the department must be completed within 3 months of employment.
- Able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment.
