Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing patients for provider evaluations by taking vital signs, recording information, and assisting with treatments such as wound care, injections, and minor procedures.
- Cooking patient flow, ensuring efficient use of the facility and provider time, and maintaining treatment rooms.
- Coordinating surgeries, obtaining authorizations for diagnostics and Durable Medical Equipment, and ensuring all required clearances are in place.
- Assisting with basic administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and ensuring timely follow-up on flagged items in the system.
- Maintaining inventory levels of medical supplies, ensuring the cleanliness of treatment rooms and other areas, and participating in training new employees.
- Working closely with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient care.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates should have:
- A strong foundation in computer skills, including proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook.
- Excellent telephone communication skills to maintain clear and professional interactions with patients and staff.
- An understanding of mathematical concepts, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- The ability to manage cash transactions and reconcile cash drawer balances with computer system reports accurately.
- Experience in a surgical specialty clinic or holding a CCMA/CMAC certification from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 3 years of experience working in a surgical specialty clinic or similar setting.
- A one-year certificate from college or technical school, combined with at least one year of related experience and/or training.
- A minimum of one-year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A solid understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Pay range based on years of applicable experience:
- $23.00 to $27.96 per hour.
