Responsibilities
- Fulfill patient care responsibilities as assigned, including organizing patient flow and preparing exam rooms.
- Accompany patients to exam rooms, document patient history, chart, collect specimens, relay instructions, and assist patients as necessary.
- Perform patient screening, including documenting patient history, performing medication reconciliation, and obtaining vitals.
- Assist doctors with physical exams and office procedures as needed.
- Support the office coordinator with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and other administrative duties.
- Manage and update patient medical records, including handling referrals and prior authorizations.
- Maintain inventory of clinical equipment and supplies, including ordering and restocking.
- Obtain prior authorizations and book surgeries as required.
- Float to other GFP offices/locations based on business needs.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant/Medical Office Assistant diploma program preferred.
- Experience working in a surgical office strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task.
- Experience with electronic medical records is required.
