About the role
Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics, and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular, and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of patient care activities in our Resource Team department.
- Provide compassionate health services to patients and their families.
- Work closely with physicians and medical staff to ensure high-quality care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent education.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), ABR-OE from AAMA, RMA from AMT, NCMA from NCCT, RMA from ARMA, NRCMA from NAHP, CMAC from AMCA, CCMA from NHA.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card.
- Ability to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.
Qualifications

Skills
- Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) and/or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) coding.
- Experience with electronic medical records.

Pay
Pay Range: 27.79 - 29.25 USD per hour
