Schedule

This is a part-time, 70% FTE, day-shift position scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay

UW Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Relevant work experience will be taken into consideration when determining the starting base pay. Additional compensation includes a float differential of $2.75 per hour worked.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination, obtain vital signs, and document chief complaint, medications, and allergies.
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
  • Educate and promote the importance of wellness and healthy lifestyles to patients and families.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent and one of the following:

  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Licensure as an LPN.
  • Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program.
  • Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee.
  • Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated.
  • One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.

Qualifications

  • 1 year as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN (preferred).
  • Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 year (required) or licensure as an LPN upon hire (required).
  • If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
  • CPR/BLS certification (required upon hire).
