About the Role

Serves as the initial contact point for patients, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience. Combines administrative, clerical, and clinical duties to improve workflow, coordinate care, and support clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient check-in/check-out, verify insurance, collect payments, schedule appointments, and handle inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and logs, ensuring compliance.
  • Collect and document patient data such as vital signs and health history.
  • Assist providers with patient information collection and prepare exam rooms.
  • Support specimen collection, administer medications/vaccinations, and aid in medical procedures.
  • Perform follow-up calls post-discharge and support patient care activities.

Requirements

  • Specialized Diploma or completion of Medical Assistant training.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in EMR, word processing, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and patient care practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting.
  • Healthcare customer service experience.
  • Certifications such as CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA, or RMA.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 25 lbs., perform activities like kneeling, bending, and CPR as needed.
