About the Role
Serves as the initial contact point for patients, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience. Combines administrative, clerical, and clinical duties to improve workflow, coordinate care, and support clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient check-in/check-out, verify insurance, collect payments, schedule appointments, and handle inquiries.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and logs, ensuring compliance.
- Collect and document patient data such as vital signs and health history.
- Assist providers with patient information collection and prepare exam rooms.
- Support specimen collection, administer medications/vaccinations, and aid in medical procedures.
- Perform follow-up calls post-discharge and support patient care activities.
Requirements
- Specialized Diploma or completion of Medical Assistant training.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in EMR, word processing, and Excel.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and patient care practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting.
- Healthcare customer service experience.
- Certifications such as CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA, or RMA.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift 25 lbs., perform activities like kneeling, bending, and CPR as needed.
