About the role
We're looking for an energetic and adaptable Medical Assistant to support our outpatient specialty offices. In this role, you'll help create a smooth and welcoming experience for patients—escorting them to treatment rooms, gathering important health information, and documenting details in their charts with care. As a float, flexibility is key! You might work at different locations from day to day, and sometimes even split your time between sites. Reliable transportation is a must, as success in this role depends on your ability to get where you're needed, when you're needed.
What You Will Do
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment
- Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and takes/documents patient vital signs
- Processes and files all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients' chart after they have been reviewed by the physician
- Coordinates patient flow in the office
- Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner
- Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required
- Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate's Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred
- National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus
Schedule
Day Shift – Full Time – 40 Hours
