About the role
As a Medical Assistant Float at Quincy Medical Group, you will provide clinical support across multiple departments and specialty areas, helping ensure seamless patient care and operational continuity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide clinical support across a variety of clinic settings.
- Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical histories, medication information, and visit details.
- Absorb and assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient care activities.
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments within scope of practice and organizational policies.
- Cook up and coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, medication refills, and follow-up appointments.
- Communicate test results, provider recommendations, and patient education materials.
- Respond to patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Adapt quickly to varying workflows, providers, patient populations, and specialty areas.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- CPR certification is required (available upon hire).
- A Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
- Previous clinical experience in an ambulatory, specialty, or physician practice setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient service skills are essential.
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and support multiple departments is necessary.
- Comfort working independently while collaborating effectively with providers and care teams is important.
- Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
- A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care is required.
