Medical Assistant Float

Responsibilities

• Takes vitals and reviews patient history
• Prepares and cleans room for patient and prepares patient for the physician encounter
• Performs various office-based testing and treatments under the supervision of clinicians
• Collaborates with patients and their families to coordinate and manage patient care, including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling of appointments
• Solves patient concerns promptly

Requirements

• At least 1 - 3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Bilingual strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft (Word and Excel)
• EMR (Athena) experience a plus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school, or passage of the Medical Assistant examination
