Shift Details

• Full-Time (40 hrs/wk – Monday to Friday, hours depending on clinic needs)
• Work Sites & Clinic Locations: Henderson, NV Las Vegas, NV Mesquite, NV Pahrump, NV Boulder City, NV

About the Role

This position has accountability for providing patient care while supporting multiple specialties in an ambulatory clinic settings. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs working 8-10 hour shifts through a Monday-Friday 40-hour work week. Must be willing to do both front and back office duties and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition.
• Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
• Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program (certification must be provided upon hire)
• Or at least one year of Medical Assistant experience (verified upon hire)
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program (certification must be provided upon hire) Or at least one year of Medical Assistant experience (verified upon hire) Or current RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry. Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction. Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting. Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software. Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA
