Medical Assistant Float (16 to 40 hours/week)
About the role
Henry Ford Health System's internal staffing department ensures sufficient staff throughout the health system. This department addresses unplanned or short-term staffing needs through vacations, call-offs, leave of absence, increased census or acuity.
Responsibilities
- Floating to various Henry Ford clinics to provide coverage.
- Minimum commitment of 2 days per week with potential for full-time schedule.
- Flexibility required on location and clinic.
- Primary hours are Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts.
- Occasional weekend work with pay differential.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a 160-hour clinical externship (or equivalent experience).
- One year continuous work as Medical Assistant with verified clinical experience.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience.
- Military trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in a medical setting.
- Ability to perform a variety of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care.
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
- Completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.

- Current BLS (American Heart Association) certificate.
