Responsibilities
- Assist the licensed health care professional in performing a variety of tasks including rooming patients, monitoring patient flow, returning phone messages, obtaining patient histories and vital signs, administering medications, assisting with diagnostic procedures and/or treatments, maintaining the patient's medical record, stocking rooms and assisting with medical emergencies.
- Aid in scheduling appointments, completing pre-certifications, completing patient forms, refilling medications per protocol, assisting with clinical duties, ordering supplies, and cleaning exam rooms.
Requirements
- Certified or Registered as Medical Assistant at time of employment
- Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire
- Strong critical thinking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication and counseling skills
- Two years clinical experience desirable
- Willingness to learn phlebotomy and point of care labs
- Preferred Experience with Electronic Medical Records and prior experience in Dermatology
- May require working some irregular hours
