Medical Assistant - Dakota Ridge

The Medical Assistant position at OnPoint Family Medicine at Dakota Ridge is part of a growing network of skilled Primary and Urgent care providers dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare. The role involves assisting providers in examinations and treatments, maintaining medical records, and ensuring a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients, prepares them for visits, and documents vital signs
• Populates electronic medical records accurately and timely
• Assists providers during examinations and treatments
• Maintains supplies and disinfects treatment rooms
• Maintains a professional and respectful working environment
• Performs pre-visit planning and checks logs
• Answers phones, schedules appointments, and handles voicemails and emails
• Supports the back office as needed
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate of an accredited healthcare program (Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT, etc.)
• Must maintain certifications per state guidelines
• Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
• Strong computer skills, especially with EMR systems
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics
• Experience with Athenahealth practice management system
