Responsibilities
- Rooming patients
- Obtaining vital signs and health histories
- Administering medications and injections as appropriate
- Cooking care
- Coordinating care
- Aiding in procedures
- Documenting in the electronic medical record
- Helping patients feel welcomed, respected, and supported
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed
- Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting
- 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
- Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required (exempt for MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years)
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date
- A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire
- Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant
