About the role

Patriot Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant or EMT to join our team in Hagerstown, MD. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to providers and team members to ensure a seamless flow between examination and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a high quality and consistent approach to patient care
  • Provide exceptional support to providers and team members
  • Escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate
  • Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood and assist provider with any procedures in/out of exam room
  • Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, audiogram, peak flow, and other basic nursing functions
  • Perform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensure preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory
  • Monitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals
  • Complete medical charting to include medical services rendered, s results, and supplies used

Requirements

  • Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week with a rotation on weekends and some holidays
  • Must be able to travel to multiple clinic centers across the defined region to support critical shifts
  • Must have BLS/CPR certification
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of clinical experience preferred
  • Ability to perform clinical intake including obtaining patient’s medical history, current medications, chief complaint, obtain vital signs and records information within EMR system
  • Must provide proof of current certification if applicable

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
  • Two years of clinical experience preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR system
  • Must have strong customer service and problem-solving / communication skills
  • Must have detail-oriented with excellent communication skills

Pay

Hourly Salary Range: Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA): $17.00 - $24.00

Schedule

Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week with a rotation on weekends and some holidays. MA / EMT positions may require travel to multiple clinic centers across the defined region to support critical shifts. Access to reliable transportation is required. Mileage is paid for travel that occurs outside of your defined home region.
