About the role

Patriot Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to providers and the team to ensure a seamless flow between examination and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a high quality and consistent approach to patient care
  • Provide exceptional support to providers and the team
  • Establish and maintain a seamless flow between examination and treatment
  • Be the liaison between patients and medical providers
  • Escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate
  • Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood, assist provider with any procedures in/out of exam room
  • Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, audiogram, peak flow, and other basic nursing functions
  • Perform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensure preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory
  • Monitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals
  • Complete medical charting to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used

Requirements

  • Two years of clinical experience preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with a current certification
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current certification
  • Ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate
  • BLS/CPR certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant (Certified, Certified Clinical, Registered, or a certificate of completion from your school is preferred, but not required)
  • Proof of current certification is needed if you are a CMA
  • Nurse (LPN) must provide proof of current certification
  • Ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate
  • BLS/CPR certification required
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving / communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR system

Pay

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA): $17.00 - $24.00
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): $21.00 - $28.00

Schedule

  • Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week with a rotation on weekends and some holidays
  • MA / LPN positions may require travel to multiple clinic centers across the defined region to support critical shifts
  • Access to reliable transportation is required
  • Mileage is paid for travel that occurs outside of your defined home region
