Medical Assistant/Clinical Service Specialist, Full Time- San Antonio, TX

About the role

VIVO Infusion is seeking a Medical Assistant/Clinical Service Specialist to join our team in San Antonio, TX. This position plays a crucial role in our clinical operations by supporting medical staff, patients, and the infusion center.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients, updates patient charts, and communicates pertinent data to providers and nurses.
• Supports administrative tasks such as scheduling, managing phone calls, and processing payments.
• Ensures efficient exam room turnover and assists providers in the exam room as needed.
• Collects and prepares lab specimens as directed and assists with obtaining prior authorizations.
• Manages supplies, disinfects exam rooms, and obtains necessary records for the patient's chart.
• Triage patient calls and documents them appropriately.
• Follows infection control protocols and demonstrates effective communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required prior to start date.
• One year of experience in a clinical environment.
• One year of experience in an administrative, patient-facing, or customer service role.
• Phlebotomy and lab processing skills preferred.
