Description

The Certified Medical Assistant will provide patient care assistance to Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Registered Nurses. Duties include:

  • Telephone triage support
  • Maintaining patient flow through clinic
  • Bringing back patients for their appointments
  • Obtaining and verifying medical history information
  • Entering medical history into the EMR system
  • Prepping patients for procedures
  • Generating referrals, prescriptions, and test referrals
  • Creating discharge paperwork
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments
  • Discharging patients and addressing questions
  • Ordering and stocking medical supplies
  • Maintaining clean exam rooms and stock

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three months on-the-job training and recent medical field experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant (or willingness to obtain certification within six months)
