Job Responsibilities
- Greets patients in a warm and welcoming environment and answers telephones.
- Updates and files patient medical records.
- Collections patient medical histories and records vital signs.
- Prepares patients for examination and explains treatment procedures to patients as needed.
- Gathers and prepares laboratory specimens, and may perform basic laboratory tests on the premises.
- Disposes contaminated supplies.
- Instructs patients about medication and special diets, and orders/obtains injectable medications from the onsite pharmacy as directed by a physician.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A Certification as a Medical Assistant or the ability to obtain certification within three months of employment.
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
