Medical Assistant - Certified

Job Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a warm and welcoming environment and answers telephones.
• Updates and files patient medical records.
• Collections patient medical histories and records vital signs.
• Prepares patients for examination and explains treatment procedures to patients as needed.
• Gathers and prepares laboratory specimens, and may perform basic laboratory tests on the premises.
• Disposes contaminated supplies.
• Instructs patients about medication and special diets, and orders/obtains injectable medications from the onsite pharmacy as directed by a physician.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A Certification as a Medical Assistant or the ability to obtain certification within three months of employment.
• One year experience as a Medical Assistant.
