Responsibilities
- Supports physicians and advanced practice practitioners in providing patient care
- Assists with patient intake and registration
- Prepares examination rooms and equipment
- Administers medications and treatments as directed
- Collects and processes specimens for laboratory testing
- Documents patient information accurately and timely
- Ensures patient confidentiality and privacy
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed
- Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting
- One year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
- Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required (exempt for MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years)
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date (fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement)
- A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire
- Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant

Pay
Bonus amounts vary based on experience and eligibility. For 0-1 years of experience, the bonus is $4,000 for full-time positions. For 1+ years of experience, the bonus is $5,000 for full-time positions. Prorated amounts apply for part-time hires, and per diem hires are ineligible for bonuses.

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week with flexibility in scheduling options, including the option for 1/2 day Fridays.
