Medical Assistant - Bilingual Haitian Cr

Duties

• Provide clients with non-judgmental and accurate information regarding reproductive health issues, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, HIV, Hepatitis, pregnancy options, and pregnancy prevention.
• Absorb and record client's personal medical history including gynecological, obstetrical and sexual history.
• Accurately enter data into electronic health record system.
• Attend morning clinic huddle.
• Support clinics by doing intakes over the phone, helping with medical follow-up as needed, and reconciling outstanding labs in eCW.
• Be the back-up for medical follow-up coordinators in their absence.
• Other duties as assigned by the Site Manager.

Requirements

• Haitian Creole speaker;
• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Prior experience as Medical Assistant in busy office;
• Computer literacy essential;
• Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills in English and be sensitive to the needs of a culturally diverse population;
• Prior experience working with low income and vulnerable populations;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate unbiased reproductive health knowledge to patients (adolescents and adults of all genders) in an effective and culturally competent, non-judgmental manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Assistant Certificate;
• GYN medical assisting experience;
