What We Are Looking For

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Candidates should be customer-friendly and passionate about providing excellent care.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with exams (including patient vitals), procedures, and other direct patient care tasks under direct supervision.
• Administers medications according to policy and provider direction, adhering to safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws and urine collections as directed by the provider.
• Conducts splinting and casting as needed.
• Performs various types of physicals, such as sports physicals.
• Carries out tasks like ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration.
• Notifies the on-duty provider promptly of any unusual patient occurrences, documenting incidents on an incident report.
• Notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns immediately.
• Follows laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)/Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Performs other related duties as assigned or described by company policy.
• Supports the Front Office Reception as needed, performing tasks such as monitoring patient flow, processing discharges, and collecting payments.

Essential Education, Experience & Skills

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an APPROVED Medical Assistant training program, or an UNAPPROVED program with at least 2000 hours of supervised work experience or 1 year of employment as a Medical Assistant.
• National Certification through AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
• Experience directly supervised by a Provider or Physician Group for at least 2000 hours or 1 year.
