What We Are Looking For

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who enjoys a fast-paced environment and works well in a team. Candidates should be customer-friendly and passionate about providing excellent care.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with exams (including patient vitals), procedures, and other direct patient care tasks under direct supervision.
• Administers medications according to policy and provider direction, adhering to safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws and urine collection as directed by the provider.
• Conducts splinting and casting as needed.
• Performs various types of physicals, including sports physicals.
• Carries out other urgent care-related duties such as ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration.
• Notifies the on-duty provider promptly of any unusual patient occurrences, documenting incidents on an incident report.
• Notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns immediately.
• Fulfills laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)/Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Performs other related duties as assigned or described by company policy.
• Supports the front office by keeping patients informed of wait times, monitoring patient flow, processing discharges, and collecting payments.

Essential Education, Experience & Skills

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an APPROVED Medical Assistant training program, or an UNAPPROVED program and obtained National Certification through AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
• At least one year of employment as a Medical Assistant after completing an approved program, or two thousand (2000) hours of supervised work experience under a provider or physician group.
• Verifiable work experience directly supervised by a provider or physician group.
