Summary

The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists. Here Are Just a Few Things We Offer:

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post-op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suturing removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as surgical photographs, biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, trichograms, Tzank preps, dermabrasion, patch testing, blue light

Qualifications

• Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).
• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Maintain current state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations to continue employment
• Willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Organizational and communication skills
• Effective and cooperative working with staff, clients, and visitors
• Multi-tasking, prioritizing appropriately, and working well individually and as part of a team

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training.
