About the role
The Medical Assistant position at Dermatology Solutions Group, LLC supports the delivery of healthcare services to patients managed by Southeastern Dermatology Group, P.A. The role involves assisting medical providers, maintaining patient records, and performing various administrative and clinical duties.
Responsibilities
- Ensures an excellent patient experience through all practice interactions.
- Accurately documents patient information in health records.
- Performs daily clinic duties such as preparing patients for examination, taking vital signs, and cleaning and stocking exam rooms.
- Assists with patient care services, including administering injections and assisting with examinations.
- Verifies patient information and prepares and processes e-prescriptions.
- Triage and respond to patient communications and schedule tests and treatments.
- Maintain accurate records and perform medication prior authorizations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year medical experience in a physician's office or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Current certification or the ability to obtain one.
- Physical abilities to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and operate medical equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle a diverse population.
Skills
- Knowledge of medical practice operations and patient care standards.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
- Ability to assist in a variety of common office procedures.
- Ability to take vital signs, if applicable.
- Ability to develop and maintain clinical quality assurance.
- Ability to identify and proactively solve issues.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and record test results.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to use good reasoning and judgment in emergency situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Proficiency in using a computer keyboard.
