Medical Assistant
About the role
Join our dedicated outpatient team at the Portsmouth clinic, where patient-centered care is our top priority. In this role you will directly report to the Center Administrator and play an important part in delivering high-quality clinical support to our Patients. Portsmouth clinic address: 1817 Frederick Blvd, Portsmouth, VA 23707.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient histories, discuss symptoms, and record vital signs
- Administer medications and vaccines following protocols
- Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens
- Prepare and maintain clean, sterile examination and equipment
- Document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Requirements
- Successful completion of MA school/training program and a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant with 3+ years of experience and approval from Provider
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR Certified
- Meet patient-facing role requirements, including participation in our Tuberculosis (TB) screening program
Preferred qualifications
- Phlebotomy experience
- Medication/vaccine administration experience
- At least 1 year of MA experience
- Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication
Schedule
Onsite, Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Pay
$43,000 - $56,200 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
