Schedule

Full time, 30+ hours per week. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7am to 7pm. Flexibility to cover shifts in a team environment is required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to patients and providers.
  • Maintain thorough working knowledge of all standard operating protocols and policies for the clinical department, specifically within the allergy practice.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of allergy treatments and procedures to appropriately care for patient needs.
  • Provide proficient pre-care and post-care treatment instructions for allergy testing and immunotherapy.
  • Understand provider-to-patient flow and anticipate the provider’s next steps to maximize quality patient care and practice efficiency.
  • Support the provider through tasks such as scribing, managing patient records, and assisting with patient communication.
  • Check allergy testing equipment at the beginning of each shift and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Perform inventory responsibilities and stock allergy-related supplies and equipment as requested.
  • Complete all required training and continued education opportunities within the allotted time frame, focusing on allergy care.
  • Assist the physician in allergy procedures, including skin prick tests, patch tests, spirometry, and immunotherapy injections.
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms before and after every visit.
  • Assist the provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, obtaining consents, and procedures within established guidelines.
  • Process payments, book follow-up visits, and track inventory used during visits as needed.
  • Learn and adhere to new workflows, including Klara paperwork, patient notifications, and patient messaging.
  • Maintain office cleanliness and remove waste.
  • Assist in covering the front desk or greeter role when needed.
  • Apply working knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
  • Perform additional tasks for office and patient care as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant; experience in an allergy practice preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification required.
  • CPR and AED Certifications required.
  • Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred.
  • Experience with allergy testing (skin prick, patch, and spirometry) preferred.
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Outlook.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.
  • Strong follow-up skills and accountability.
  • Professional, reliable, and dedicated work ethic.
  • Open availability to work during office and/or scheduled hours.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $21.50–$27.00
