Medical Assistant/Admit Worker - Laguna Hills Primary Care - FT Days

Position Summary

Incumbent performs non-licensed medical care in the outpatient clinical setting. Performs clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-licensed medical care in the outpatient clinical setting.
• Performs clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.

Requirements

• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships across the Health System.
• Communicates effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting.
• Clinical / Back Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Skills

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• Outpatient experience.
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays.
• Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese.
