Medical ASL Interpreter

Role: ASL Interpreter Responsibilities Provide accurate, culturally competent interpretation for Deaf and hard-of-hearing pediatric patients and families Support communication during medical appointments, procedures, family conferences, and hospital programs Ensure clear, confidential communication between healthcare providers and families Collaborate with care teams to facilitate effective interactions Follow ethical standards and document services as required Contribute to an inclusive, patient-centered environment focused on children’s health and well-being Qualifications & Skills Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpretation Knowledge of medical and healthcare terminology Strong communication and cultural competency skills Ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards
