About the role

The Deputy Medical Manager – Hospitals will support the Medical Affairs function for the Anti-infectives portfolio, focusing on upcoming antibiotics launches in the hospital segment. This hybrid position involves approximately 7–8 days/month of fieldwork for scientific engagement with hospital-based stakeholders, with the remaining time spent in the Head Office supporting strategy, evidence generation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong expertise in anti-infectives/antibiotics, including mechanism of action, resistance patterns, treatment guidelines, and clinical data.
• Provide high-quality scientific support to internal teams (marketing, sales, market access) and external stakeholders.
• Stay updated on emerging resistance trends, stewardship practices, and hospital protocols.
• Support development and delivery of scientific training programs for internal stakeholders.
• Conduct 7–8 days/month of field visits to engage with KOLs, infectious disease specialists, and hospital pharmacists.
• Drive scientific discussions on antibiotic usage, resistance, and appropriate patient selection.
• Support pre-launch and launch activities through scientific positioning of products.
• Gather insights from field interactions to refine medical and brand strategies.

Requirements

• Education: MBBS / MD / PharmD / PhD
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Affairs, specifically in Anti-infectives / Antibiotics. Hospital-focused roles preferred.
• Experience in launch support or pre-launch activities is highly desirable.

Skills

• Strong understanding of antibiotic therapy and resistance mechanisms.
• Proven ability to engage with hospital KOLs and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Strong scientific communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate clinical data effectively.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
