Job Summary and Qualifications
The Medicaid Support Specialist serves as support in the areas of reporting, patient account review/update, correspondence management, call cycle, data entry, patient pre-screening assessment and other clerical duties.
The Operations Support Specialist is responsible for affecting ongoing quality, productivity, and efficiency by applying a proactive approach to all daily operational duties.
What You Will Do in this Role
- May answer/transfer daily inbound calls and forward voice mails to appropriate staff or place outbound calls
- Completes patient pre-screening assessments
- Processes daily incoming mail by scanning documents (onsite), distributing via email, shared drives or uploading copy to electronic storage application
- Processes daily outgoing Standard/Overnight/Certified Mail shipments via FedEx/USPS (onsite) or Diamond
- Manually enters accounts in Parallon Medicaid Eligibility tool (PME)
- Assembles/provides reports to clients
- Obtains medical records from various applications or optimizes existing records
- Processes incoming shipments from facilities, containing physical files (onsite)
- Promotes and maintains harmonious and effective relationships and communications with other departments and clients
- Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the office
- Covers and assists with other office functions as requested
- Communicates issues and project status to management as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum one year related experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Relevant education may substitute experience requirement.
