ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- LEADER: Develops 21st century learning skills throughout the school environment, ensuring students become effective digital citizens.
- INSTRUCTIONAL PARTNER: Collaborates with classroom teachers to develop lessons promoting critical thinking, information literacy, social skills, and cultural competencies.
- INFORMATION SPECIALIST: Uses technology to supplement resources, assist in creating engaging learning products, connect with the global community, communicate with students, teachers, and the community, and provide access to resources. Expert in ethical use of print and digital information.
- TEACHER: Supports student achievement through instruction in Common Core Standards, advocates for reading for pleasure and comprehension, builds a diverse collection, and integrates information literacy skills with the Common Core and Georgia Performance Standards.
- PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR: Ensures all members of the learning community have access to resources, experiences, and instruction meeting a variety of needs and interests. Establishes a flexible schedule and space supporting multiple kinds of learning. Plans and implements a program of instruction teaching students to use various forms of electronic media. Promotes literacy in various formats through instruction and collaboration with teachers. Communicates effectively with students, peers, administration, parents, and the public. Establishes multiple tools for communication about the media program resources, events, and service. Creates a climate motivating effective utilization of media facilities, resources, and services.
JOB STANDARDS
- Three years teaching experience. Alternatives as found acceptable by the Board.
