About the role
The Media Planner/Buyer works under the direction of the Manager, Media. They are responsible for developing, purchasing, executing, and delivering integrated media plans for casino properties and related enterprise clients across traditional and digital channels.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes media plans for TV, radio, digital platforms, print, and out-of-home media
- Manages ad placements and ensures effective use of advertising metrics
- Collaborates with internal teams, agency partners, and vendors to support media objectives and execution
- Maintains budget, verifies placement accuracy, and produces performance recap reports
- Identifies and evaluates media opportunities, and negotiates media buys
- Prepares post-buy evaluations and analyzes media habits and usage of target audience
- Leverages business relationships to find and evaluate media opportunities
- Prepares supportive materials and computes rates, circulation analysis, closing dates, ratings, and related information
- Oversees media contracts, develops pricing and service standards, and explores alternative vendors
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in advertising, business, marketing, or related analytical field
- Minimum two (2) years of experience across traditional and digital media, preferably in an agency setting
- Expertise in strategic media planning, KPI development, campaign evaluation (including attribution), and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel (pivot tables) and PowerPoint (slide master)
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in media advertising ratings metrics, data analysis, and media buying and research platforms
- Strong analytical problem-solving abilities with experience working with large datasets
- Demonstrated skill in negotiation, persuasion, and stakeholder influence
- Proactive expansion of knowledge to remain current with industry trends, tools, and emerging technologies
Skills
- Knowledge of media advertising ratings metrics, data analysis, and media buying and research platforms
- Experience with Nielsen TV/Radio and Scarborough data
- Proficiency in using Freewheel (Strata) for quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Experience with Nielsen Scarborough via Prime Lingo for qualitative research
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and identify key trends
- Sound judgment, industry knowledge, and creativity to plan, execute, and achieve objectives with flexibility and independence
