About the role

SESLHD is one of the largest local health districts in Sydney, covering a geographical area of 468 square kilometres from Sydney’s central business district, the beaches from Bondi to Cronulla and down to the Royal National Park. We deliver health care to around 930,000 residents across the local government areas of Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, Bayside, Georges River and the Sutherland Shire. We also provide a key role in helping residents of Lord Howe Island. Our staff deliver high quality health care across a variety of community-based services ranging from pre-birth to palliative care.

The primary purpose of the Media and Communications Officer position is to provide internal and external communication support to maximise positive communication opportunities and to respond to media enquiries and liaise with media organisations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality communication strategies tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Tailor messaging across different audiences and channels using various technical platforms.
  • Proactively manage media or communications challenges in fast-moving or high-pressure environments to support the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • Respond to media enquiries and liaise with media organisations.

Qualifications

  • Describe a time when you had to develop and deliver a high-quality communication strategy to a diverse group of stakeholders. How did you tailor your messaging across different audiences and channels, what technical platforms did you use, and what was the outcome?
  • Tell us about a time when you recognised a media or communications challenge in a fast-moving or high-pressure environment. What steps did you take to manage this proactively, how did your approach support the organisation's strategic objectives, and what was the result?

Pay

Remuneration: $118,821 - $140,201 per annum plus superannuation.
