Supports the Office of Communications and Brand Marketing (OCM) in content creation and editing across projects and platforms for all OCM initiatives. Cross-trains on other marketing, communications, and media functions to advance the university’s strategic plan. Reports to the Advertising, Branding and Marketing Manager.
Responsibilities
- Apply social-media principles and practices in a professional environment
- Adhere to UIW brand standards and marketing practices
- Write, edit, and proofread content following AP style
- Use Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and Canva
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Collaborate with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Comply with university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations
- Set up, staff, and break down events, including lifting up to 15 lbs, pushing/pulling carts up to 50 lbs, and standing for extended periods
- Travel on and off campus for meetings and events
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three years of professional communications experience (internships/graduate assistantships considered)
- Valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and minimum age of 21
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Communications, Journalism, and/or Marketing
Skills
- Strong written and oral communication
- Project management and deadline-driven work ethic
- Familiarity with communications and brand-marketing principles
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with occasional extended hours or weekends as needed.
Pay
$47,000 annually.
