About the role

In IJsselstein, you will take responsibility for complex cases as an experienced Youth Worker, collaborating with families and care partners to provide appropriate support. You will be the first point of contact for families with a request for help, investigating their situation, mapping it carefully, and determining suitable support together with the family. You will consider not only professional help but also what parents and young people can organize themselves and within their network. You will maintain oversight in complex situations, take charge, and ensure clear documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct conversations with parents, young people, and other involved parties to carefully investigate the request for help.
  • Analyze complex family situations and determine the necessary support.
  • Prepare investigation reports and family plans, ensuring clear and careful registration.
  • Manage your caseload and monitor the progress of implemented support.
  • Collaborate with care providers and other professionals involved with the family.
  • Encourage parents and young people to utilize their own capabilities and network as much as possible.
  • Investigate when professional support can be scaled back to the forefront.
  • Identify unsafe situations and collaborate with organizations such as SAVE and Veilig Thuis when necessary.
  • Ensure that agreements, findings, and next steps are well-documented.

Requirements

  • Completed HBO-bachelor's degree in Social Work or Pedagogy.
  • Valid SKJ registration.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience within Youth and Family at a municipality.
  • Demonstrable experience as a youth consultant or youth care worker within a municipal organization.
  • Strong registration and reporting skills, with experience in preparing investigation and family plans.
  • Ability to independently manage complex cases and assess when care can be scaled back.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and professional interaction with parents, young people, and collaborative partners.
  • Available in the short term; clearly state your availability in your application.

Experience with the social map of IJsselstein, the care offerings within the Lekstroom region, and ZorgNed is a clear advantage.

Benefits

  • Salary according to scale 9 of the CAO Gemeenten, ranging from €4,176 to €5,965 gross per month, including Individueel Keuzebudget (IKB).
  • The full IKB is paid out monthly along with your salary.

Pay

€4,176 to €5,965 gross per month (scale 9 of the CAO Gemeenten), including Individueel Keuzebudget (IKB).

Schedule

32 to 36 hours per week. The assignment initially runs until January 1, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

About the team

You will work at the municipality of IJsselstein, a community of over 33,000 residents with a recognizable historic center. The municipal organization consists of more than 250 employees across eight teams. They focus on craftsmanship, pragmatic work, and collaboration to provide excellent service to residents. In this role, you will strengthen the team due to an urgent need for experienced youth professionals. You will hold a responsible position working with families with complex requests for help, collaborating closely with parents, young people, care providers, and other involved professionals. The emphasis is on careful investigation, leveraging personal strengths, providing appropriate support, and clear management.
