About the role

As a Goods Receipt Associate, you are responsible for the accurate receipt and verification of incoming goods delivered by suppliers and carriers. You ensure proper registration of received goods in the ERP system and their storage in designated locations. You also manage the freezer storage area. You collaborate closely with colleagues from reception, production, quality control, and internal logistics to ensure a smooth and accurate flow of goods from start to finish. You report to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming goods (raw materials, packaging materials, other goods) from suppliers and carriers.
• Verify the accuracy of delivered goods against the order.
• Report discrepancies in accuracy to the supervisor.
• Check accompanying documents.
• Register correctly received goods in the ERP system.
• Label or code products as needed.
• Archive documents and report discrepancies.
• Move goods to defined storage locations according to agreed procedures.
• Manage the freezer storage area, including stock control (what, where, correct location), orderliness, accessibility, and goods movements (in and out).
• Perform all activities in compliance with food safety, hygiene, orderliness, and safety standards for both personnel and equipment.

Typical Tasks and Activities

• Verify delivered goods against the order.
• Check accompanying documents (delivery note).
• Supervise the unloading of incoming goods.
• Verify received goods for accuracy: correct items vs. order, correct quantities (numbers and/or weight), proper labeling, correct quality including damage checks, and correct delivery temperature.
• Register approved goods in the ERP system.
• Report discrepancies or damage to the quality department and/or supplier.
• Label or code products as needed.
• Transport goods to defined storage locations.
• Maintain loading and unloading zones and keep equipment in a clean and safe condition as agreed.
• Transport goods to and from the freezer storage area.
• Reorganize goods in the freezer, and perform correct and systematic stock counts.
• Collaborate and communicate with external and internal drivers and other internal departments as needed: production, quality, logistics, purchasing, etc.
• Support inventory and stock checks upon request.
• Follow all rules regarding food safety, hygiene, orderliness, and safety of personnel and equipment in all activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s level or equivalent through experience.
• Experience in a logistics role, preferably within the food industry.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, traceability, temperature control).
• Basic computer and ERP system knowledge.
• Forklift certification is an advantage.
• Accurate, detail-oriented, precise, responsible, and quality-conscious.
• Authority for loading docks and freezer storage area.
• Dutch or French as a native language (or proficiency at a native level) and comfortable speaking the other language. Knowledge of English is a plus.
