About the role
A hands-on mechanical professional who takes pride in keeping critical infrastructure running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and timely repairs on pipeline system equipment to minimize downtime and throughput loss.
- Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot mechanical systems including pumps, valves, mixers, seals, motors, fans, and measurement equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements, company O&M procedures, and DOT regulations.
- Develop and execute lock-out/tag-out procedures and open-system job plans to ensure safe maintenance practices.
- Respond as a first responder during emergency situations and participate in required safety and technical training programs, including OQ certifications.
- Use maintenance management systems (e.g., Maximo) to document work, track equipment history, and support planning activities.
- Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, and operations teams to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance and improvement work efficiently.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years’ experience in industrial mechanical maintenance
- Excellent trouble shooting ability
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective computer skills
- Valid driver’s license & good driving record
- Must live (or relocate) within 25 miles of the reporting location
Preferred
- Completion of an approved mechanical apprenticeship program or 2 year mechanical technical/vocational degree
- Experience in maintenance of crude oil pipeline, tank farm or delivery facilities or certified technical designation
- Familiarity with pertinent equipment (pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, programmable logic controls, motor control centers and instrumentation)
