Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. As a global leader in compression solutions, we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories.
About the Role
We are seeking a 1st shift Commercial Laboratory Technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation as a Mechanical Technician.
Responsibilities
- Follow engineering laboratory test instructions for performance/life Commercial test stands
- Set up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposes
- Operate laboratory test equipment including performance/life test stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristics
- Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests or builds
- Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards
- Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab
- Complete required tests or builds and communicate test results with engineers
- Provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the lab
Requirements
- Associates degree or two to three (2-3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship will not be provided for this role)
Schedule
This position is on 1st shift, consisting of five eight-hour workdays from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and is eligible for voluntary overtime.

Our newly renovated Sidney campus includes 1 million square feet of manufacturing floor and an additional 120,000 square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit.
