Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the effectiveness of operating systems and product quality.
• Avoid mechanical failures and perform maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
• Modify, replace, and repair parts and components as needed to ensure plant safety and efficiency.
• Enter work orders into computer systems, monitor required work, and manage parts inventory.
• Carry out expert upkeep and repairs on various mechanical and physical structures.
• Examine procedures for relevance and evaluate engineering equipment.
• Examine mechanical equipment for potential problems and participate in process improvement efforts.
• Recommend improvements and make mechanical adjustments.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors to enhance output and technology.
• Perform or assist with operations to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality requirements.
• Inform management of unusual equipment or operational issues and material supply needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols and equipment operating instructions.

Requirements

• An associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school, or a high school diploma and at least five (5) years of related experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical, documentation, and computer skills.
• Strong electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience in welding and machining is preferred.
