Safety

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Responsibilities

Mechanical maintenance positions will be responsible for assuring that all production equipment is maintained. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• troubleshooting systems, processes and/or equipment
• reading, working with, and modifying mechanical prints
• working with industrial mechanics and/or welding including: gear boxes, alignments, hydraulic and pneumatic logic, pump repair and process knowledge
• adhering to safe mechanical and rigging processes
• using computerized maintenance management program/system to complete work orders, find and order parts, and to schedule maintenance work for their shift

Requirements

This position will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and scheduled/unscheduled overtime.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience in mechanical maintenance or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience with computerized maintenance management system
