About the role

This position involves inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation of pumping and mechanical/hydraulic equipment across pipeline systems, pump stations, and delivery facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance, emergency overhauls, and reconditioning of various pumps, engines, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation of pumping and mechanical/hydraulic equipment at pipeline segments, pump stations, and delivery facilities.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, periodic, and emergency overhauls of centrifugal, reciprocating, gear pumps, and other equipment, including dismantling, reassembling, inspecting, cleaning, measuring, and aligning pumps and motors.
• Maintain diesel and gasoline engines, air compressors, valves, valve operators, fire pumps, hydraulic hoses, rigs, loading arm facilities, winches, cranes, cables, bearings, and blocks.
• Repair and install protective, alarm, and monitoring devices such as cooling systems, seal leak detectors, vibration monitors, and tank gaugers.
• Complete miscellaneous mechanical repairs to buildings, tanks, and perform insulating, rigging, grouting, and other maintenance tasks.
• Perform DOT pressure calibrations of trip and pressure relief valves and activators.
• Read and work with mechanical blueprints, vendor drawings, specification data sheets, piping drawings, and P&ID drawings.
• Use and operate safety equipment (respirators, hard hats, safety glasses) in potentially hazardous areas.
• Maintain workmanship consistent with industry standards, company practices, and applicable codes.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and all required Operator Qualifications (OQs) for this discipline.
• Meet company requirements for progression through the technician step classification job family.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2-5 years of pipeline mechanical experience.
• General familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), ladder logic, electrical control circuitry (including large motor control), VFD circuitry, and protective relays.
• Ability to read and work with mechanical blueprints, vendor drawings, specification data sheets, piping drawings, and P&ID drawings.
• Computer literacy with basic skills in Windows, MS Word, and Internet use.
• Ability to work alone, outdoors in extreme weather, and perform heavy physical labor safely.
• Must reside within 45 miles of the reporting location.
• Occasional extended off-hour duties and overnight travel may be required.

• Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Frequent driving, walking, and standing.
• Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and heavy lifting.
• Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings with potential exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, loud machinery, and hazardous materials (appropriate PPE required).
