ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reads and understands blueprints and bill of material.
  • Operates pipe threader and cutting devices to manufacture sub-assembly parts to print.
  • Installs mechanical assemblies onto generator engines and fuel tanks.
  • Assembles functional parts of enclosures and tanks using hand tools, power tools (cordless drills, impact gun, etc.), levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.
  • Uses forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, ladders and other lifting apparatus to aide in the assembly process.
  • Aids in the assembly and installation of electrical and electronic components (electrical enclosures, transformers, etc.), pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Reads bill of material to package parts/kits to customer requirements.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine assembly sequence, and setup requirements.
  • Fulfills work instructions from general description. Works with other team members to troubleshoot mechanical/fit issues in a satisfactory manner.
  • Ensures punch lists are complete.
  • Aides in preparation and disassembly of factory witness tests.
  • Prepares generator packages for shipment.
  • Loads generator enclosures and fuel tanks.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaches with hands and arms, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
  • Cleaning and organizing work area.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
