Mechanical Technician - 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

  • Aid Facility Engineers with the completion of capital projects.
  • Install, move, or modify plant equipment.
  • Procure repair parts, spare parts, or raw materials as needed.
  • Update or create new schematics and drawings.
  • Offer technical support to maintenance staff for repairs and modifications.
  • Create and implement preventative maintenance and repair procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in a mechanical or maintenance-focused environment.
  • Preferred qualifications include an associates degree in a technical discipline or completion of a registered apprenticeship program.
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, HVAC, equipment installation, fabrication and welding, hydraulics and pneumatics, or plumbing and piping systems.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and blueprint reading capabilities.
  • Must be energetic and a self-starter, able to promote and implement change, have good PC skills, good telephone skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to promote a continuous improvement atmosphere.
  • Able to work in a self-directed or team environment and have good organization skills.
  • Able to work independently and with initiative.

About the Role

This 3rd Shift Mechanical Technician position is located at Howmet Whitehall Casting. The primary responsibilities include assisting Facility Engineers with capital projects, installing, moving, or modifying plant equipment, procuring necessary parts, updating schematics, providing technical support, and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
