Mechanical Technician 2

About the role

A Mechanical Technician is responsible for operating industrial machinery in various settings such as construction sites, factories, and power plants. They perform tasks that include installing equipment, repairing items, and relocating machinery as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform millwright-level work including setting screws and barrels on extruders.
• Use precision measuring tools.
• Align and level machinery.
• Conduct intermediate welding and fabrication.
• Diagnose mechanical issues.
• Complete preventative maintenance without supervision.
• Perform minor modifications to equipment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Proven troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to mentor a Mechanical Technician 1 employee.

Safety

• Follow established safety regulations including fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, wearing proper PPE, and the use of safety equipment to prevent work-related injuries or illness.

Working Conditions

• Spend most of the day on their feet or walking through the plant.
• Work in a dusty environment, as well as in the heat and cold.
• Work at ground level with some work up to 50ft above the ground.
• Operate and work around heavy equipment.
