Mechanical Technical Instructor, Bell Training Academy (BTA)

About the role

We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) as part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next-generation aircraft. As a Mechanical Technical Instructor for the Bell Training Academy, you will bring your experience as a mechanic with deep Bell aircraft knowledge, gained from maintaining Bell’s helicopters for an operator or at a Bell Service Center.

This role is onsite in Fort Worth, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the classroom for each session and deliver course materials to customers.
• Maintain the Bell Training Academy shop areas in a clean and orderly appearance.
• Develop and deliver specialized courses for customers, building rapport with both US-based and international customers.
• Work with the Training Support Development team to update or create courseware as needed.
• Travel to present aircraft courses both domestically and internationally (15% travel required).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting Bell products, including systems such as hydraulics, fuel, powertrain, rotating controls, powerplant, and avionics/electrical.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate required.
• Self-starter with strong presentation skills and an outgoing, customer-first attitude.
• Proficient in MS Office software.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships and brief leaders/peers.

Physical Requirements

• Must be physically capable of working on and around aircraft.
• Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work stands; kneel, squat, sit, crawl, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged durations.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., including overhead, and team lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
• Good vision with the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
• Must adhere to all workplace safety protocols.
