Mechanical Instructor

About the role

TP Training, the nation's leader in practical skills training for field technicians and maintenance workers, is seeking Mechanical and/or Electrical Instructors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical training to 2-25 students in a classroom setting with hands-on and lecture components.
• Manage training support equipment weighing up to 90 pounds.
• Travel to scheduled training events.
• Use MS Office products (PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel).
• Experience with virtual training via Zoom platform is a plus.

Requirements

• Field experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or Skilled Trades Training: 10 years.
• Excellent communications and presentation skills.
• Customer service mindset with ability and passion to share knowledge and experience.
• Willingness to travel regularly.
• Ability to manage training support equipment up to 90 pounds.
• An associate degree or higher or a license/certification for the discipline.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical topics relevant to commercial, residential, and production environments.
• Ability to teach on one or more of the following disciplines: pump repair and maintenance, understanding and troubleshooting hydraulics, mechanical fundamentals and troubleshooting, basic electricity, electrical troubleshooting, electrical diagram reading.

Skills

• Strong mechanical and electrical background.
• Field experience in commercial, residential, and production environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage training support equipment up to 90 pounds.
• Knowledge of MS Office products (PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel).
• Experience with virtual training via Zoom platform.

Benefits

• Compensation range: $475 - $600 per day of teaching.
• Eligible for benefits upon hire.

Pay

$475- $600 per day of teaching depending on employment status and experience.

Schedule

This role requires travel and may involve irregular hours.
