Mechanical Technical Instructor, Bell Training Academy (BTA)

About the role

As a Mechanical Technical Instructor for the Bell Training Academy, you’ll leverage your hands-on experience maintaining Bell aircraft (helicopters) for operators or at a Bell Service Center. This role is integral to the team, working closely with customers and fellow instructors. The position is onsite in Fort Worth, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare classrooms and deliver course materials to customers.
• Maintain the Bell Training Academy shop areas in a clean and orderly appearance.
• Develop and deliver specialized courses for U.S. and international customers, building strong rapport.
• Collaborate with the Training Support Development team to update or create courseware as needed.
• Travel (15%) to present aircraft courses domestically and internationally.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting Bell products.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
• Self-starter with strong presentation skills and proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to prioritize work, maintain a customer-first attitude, and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to build relationships with customers and brief leaders/peers.

Physical Requirements

• Physically capable of working on and around aircraft.
• Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work stands; kneel, squat, sit, crawl, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods.
• Must stand for prolonged durations.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (including overhead) and team-lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
• Good vision to focus on small details and identify defects.
• Must adhere to all workplace safety protocols.

Skills

• Experience maintaining Bell aircraft systems, including hydraulics, fuel systems, powertrain, rotating controls, powerplant systems, and avionics/electrical systems.
